EXECUTIVE BOARD

The Sigma Zeta Lambda Education Fund Executive Board is composed of accomplished professionals with diverse experience in banking, education, science, and ministry who are committed to advancing educational opportunity, mentorship, and leadership development for students in Morris County, New Jersey.

ZION HAWKINS

A Dallas, Texas native, raised across Dallas, Philadelphia, Mendham (NJ), and Potomac (MD), Zion brings a diverse perspective shaped by athletics, academics, and professional experience. A graduate of Amherst College with a degree in Architecture, he was a dual-sport athlete in football and lacrosse and also worked as a docent and curator at the Mead Art Museum.

Professionally, he began his career after being selected as one of 120 student-athletes for a competitive 12-month development program, which led to a full-time role at JPMorgan Chase. He is currently an Associate in the Global Corporate Bank, working within the Financial Institutions Group, where he covers banks and mortgage finance companies.

Passionate about creating innovative solutions for low-income housing, his academic work includes an honors thesis focused on improving and sustaining Section 8 housing programs. Outside of work, he enjoys football, following the Dallas Cowboys, playing bass guitar, and exploring art galleries.

He lives by the motto: “The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena.”
